Hammond Services in Griffin has been serving the south Atlanta area since 1979!  We are a stable and growing company and we are currently looking for a Septic Tank Pumper to join our team.   You must have current Georgia Septic Pump license and CDL to be eligible for this position.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full time, hourly position.  Normal business hours are Monday Friday, 8a 5p.   There may be occasional overtime.   This is a guaranteed 40 hours per week position.

  • Must pass drug and background screens
  • Valid driver's license and insurable through company insurance carrier
  • Must have valid Georgia Septic Pump license
  • CDL license
  • 3+ year septic tank pumping experience
  • Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to work independently

Essential Duties

  • Operate numerous pieces of equipment, including mini-ex, sewer machines, jetters, crust buster, to clean main lines and septic tanks
  • Drive to a client's property to inspect septic tank and sewer system and recommend the best course of action
  • Communicate with the supervisor while out on sites to relay information about what tools are going to be needed and whether other crew members need to be brought on
  • Remove and install new tanks when they are too damaged to be repaired
  • Cut damaged portions of a sewer line out of the main tank and replace that individual section
  • Ensure the new or repaired septic tank is working optimally before leaving the work site entirely
  • Speak with clients about proper maintenance they can undergo on their own concerning the septic tank and drain field lines
  • Educate and inform customers about upgrades such as risers, clean-outs, sewer line replacements and/or lining, treatments such as BioClean and RootX, and regularly scheduled pumps
  • Know proper processes and procedures for disposal at treatment plants
  • Know how to operate and maintain a clean and safe pump truck
